Honour, respect, submission. From v11 of chapter 2 - all the way through to at least v17 of chapter 3 - Peter tells Christian believers about how to live in the world.
Christian believers are to live in the world honouring, respecting, and submitting to all sorts of people. Even when it hurts. Even when we experience evil and reviling.
In return for evil and reviling - Christian believers are to bless. We are to give a reason for the hope that is in us; with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience.
